Christmas and New Year’s is a major cultural time for Australians. As a Buddhist I see it as a time when people come together and in its best form practice love and generosity.
We all know it can be a time of rampant consumerism and over-indulgence so I think it’s also a time when one can choose to be simple, uncomplicated and mindful amidst the ‘madness’.
Families can be such a blessing and such a challenge – may we use our meditation training to be a source of kindness and steadiness over the next couple of weeks.
Meditation will be on as usual including Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve – which both happen to fall on Tuesdays this year!
