Covid has changed me ……

think it was during a morning meditation last week that I saw my resistance to going back into the level of ‘busy-ness’ that I was used to prior to Covid.

I have done a lot of short stay property letting as part of my livelihood and whilst I have enjoyed the challenge and rewards on a number of levels it also made my days very full as there are a multitude of tasks that grow out of it.

As someone committed to simplifying and clarifying their life I have seen holiday letting ‘hitting a brick wall’ as a gift of sorts. It has wrested that ‘busy-ness’ from me and forced me to experience my life in a different way: the call of stillness, simplicity and contentment has been gently profound and I don’t want to lose touch with it.

And this is a segue of sorts into giving another pitch for the two days our practice community is offering for you come along and reflect on the year we’re having and re-set for 2021. It was an idea brought to me by Nickolas Yu who work in NSW Health bringing mindfulness and compassion training to staff who in turn can share it with us, is little short of extraordinary.

So if you’d like to join us for (ideally both) Wednesday December 30th and January 6th for reflection, meditation, some gentle exercises to get more deeply in touch with where we are now and where we aspire to go then please register your interest with me.

The sessions run from 10.30 am until 3.30 pm on both days and are by donation – we already have good numbers for both days so I’d suggest letting me know as soon as you can as we are likely to be fully booked.

NB: Meditation will continue as normal through the Christmas and New Year Period.
